That's me
Hi, you seem to still be interested in me, so I will try to describe myself:
My name is Martin Bretschneider and I am a twenty four year old German male.
My Environment
I live in a little town named
Springe [de] with its 13000 inhabitants. Springe is situated in between the towns of
Hanover [en|de] (known for EXPO 2000 and CeBIT) and
Hameln [en|de] (a tourist town known for its famous Pied Piper). Springe itself is quite nice and a very important person was born here in Springe: the inventor of the bulb,
Heinrich Goebel. It was not Thomas Alva Edison as you may have thought; Goebel first assembled one in 1854, 25 years before Edison. Goebel made a bulb out of a carbon fibre in a vacuous glass bulb and used it for advertising on the roof of his house in New York. For further information ask
Google [en].
Springe is surrounded by a little mountain named the Deister - about 400 m in height - which is one of the northernmost mountains in Germany.
My Occupations
I just finished school - the
Otto-Hahn-Gymnasium [de] - having completed my final examination, called "Abitur" in Germany, in the Summer of 2001. Due to the fact that the Federal Armed Forces did not want me to serve my time, I could go on withother things: I was a trainee at
R & S Bick Mobilfunk GmbH [en|de] for three months and I learned a lot of things about (digital) radio and the computers that make it possible. In October of 2001, I started my studies in
Industrial Engineering and Management [en|de] at
Hanover University [de|en].
My Hobbies
I like to go mountain-biking, it is huge fun. Besides that, I go in for several other kinds of sport - but very irregularly at the moment: swimming and sometimes jogging and badminton.
As you can see in the navigation bar I am very interested in Linux but also in computers in general. Moreover, I enjoy taking photos with my Canon-SLR, and try to be as professional as possible.
Furthermore, I am a big fan of radio plays, I especially like
The Three Investigators [de], Science-Fiction (e.g. Pherry Rhodan) and horror ones.
Hm, I guess you now have some information about me; if you want to know more you can email me;)
